Polly Lawrence has decided to retire after 41 years of coaching High School Varsity Field Hockey including 36 years with Old Rochester’s Bulldogs in Rochester, Mass.
Lawrence told South Coast Today: “It was a really hard decision,” said an emotional Lawrence. “I wanted to retire before I don’t like it anymore, but that may never happen. I just knew it was time*.”
The school has named a Lawrence Legacy award to honor one outstanding Field Hockey player every year in the coach’s name. LTD Moments created an award to commemorate the annual achievement.
